Crunch! The Blog Server Ate Another Blog Post
Oh, aggravation!
I posted some news about Harvard’s libraries before I posted about blogrolls. I encountered the usual server errors during the editing process. When I went to post the blogroll piece to the front page, suddenly the piece about Harvard’s libraries was back on the editing list. I thought maybe my browser was using a cached page and the post was on my front page in one of my browser windows, so I went ahead and sent the blogroll piece to the front page and decided to ignore the other piece for the moment. When my front page refreshed, the libraries piece wasn’t there. An e-mail in my inbox says it’s been posted to the front page. The item in my discussion group indicates it isn’t posted to the homepage right now. The blogroll piece was already sent out via RSS, but I didn’t see the libraries piece in the same aggregator. I’m going to try to post it again, just for fun. I wonder what will happen this time. Will any of these blog posts be here tomorrow or even in five minutes?
(At least the libraries piece is back in the editing list. The last time this happened, the only place I could find the post was the discussion group.)
Addendum: Interesting: the version that magically reappeared on the editing list wasn’t the same version I sent to the homepage. Hhhmmm …
