BloggerCon Schedule Changes

Dave Winer has made a number of changes to the BloggerCon schedule, including adding sessions at 8:15 am and 4:45 pm, shortening sessions by 15 minutes, rearranging some sessions, and adding 45 minutes to lunch*.

He sent an e-mail out about the parties. Friday night dinner is at Durgin Park at 7 pm, which is near Quincy Market in downtown Boston. Dinner is dutch-treat. Dave said there will be a check-box on the registration form for people to RSVP by Friday, April 9 for the dinner. (As of the time I am writing this post, I don’t see the box on the screen I get as someone who has already registered for the conference.)

The Saturday night party is at 38 Cameron from 7:30 to 10:00 pm. Addendum 4/8: The Saturday night party is no longer at 38 Cameron. It will be at the Law School’s Pound Hall instead, where the conference takes place.

Dave wrote that plans for Sunday are still up in the air. Any interest in dim sum, like what some of us have done in the past?

(If you haven’t registered for the free conference yet and plan to attend, you should do so very soon.)

*Lunch on Saturday is dutch-treat on our own. If you don’t know where to eat and/or you don’t want to eat alone, I’ll probably gather a group after the librarianesque session to grab some chow, maybe at Boca Grande, an inexpensive and tasty Mexican place with vegetarian, vegan, and meat offerings up the street. Of course, if the weather is nice, it could be fun to storm the Chinese food truck and eat outside. It is also inexpensive and offers vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. Addendum 4/8: Lunch plans keep shifting. Last night someone proposed having sign up sheets to go with certain bloggers or go to certain restaurants. I’m still willing to lead people somewhere for lunch. There seems to be a lot of interest in the Chinese food cart.

Addendum 4/6: Friday night dinner RSVP form (It’s not on the registration form as Dave thought it would be.) People have until Monday the 12 to say they’re going.

Because sometimes I can be a nice librarian, I’ll tell you that I’m going instead of making you look it up yourself.

What Chinese Food truck? Where does it usually park? Does it operate on Saturdays?

It’s usually over by the science labs–basically across Oxford Street from the Harvard Law School and a short walk through a parking lot. It’s usually around on Saturdays until about 2 pm. There’s a nice lawn in front of the Peabody Museum perfect for a picnic. Maybe I’ll even remember to bring my picnic blanket.

Sadly, they are always out of vegetarian selections on Saturdays (and many other days) when I go. I will probably make a lunch and bring it with me.
