Speaking of Paryting with Colleagues …

I just registered for the Special Libraries Association 2004 Annual Conference. I fall into the category of those paying their own way this year, but I consider the expense to be well worth it and am lucky enough to be able to afford it. Unfortunately, because of other schedule conflicts, I can only be there for a few days, but it’s better than nothing.

I definitely did not want to miss the opportunity to honor some of my colleagues at the News Division awards banquet (goodness: anyone who reads this blog deserves some kind of award …), take a continuing education course featuring the World’s Strongest Librarian (who should also be in the deck of librarian trading cards, right alongside John Cronin and Gary Price), learn lots, hang with the solos, and network network network. Coordinating stuff for the division’s Web site from a remote location is incredibly tricky and I’d miss a lot of great blog fodder, too.

(Hhhmmm will BloggerCon rock like the News Division suite? I doubt it …)
