A Good Response to an NPR Series on Search Engines
A public librarian’s letter to National Public Radio’s Morning Edition’s series The Search Engine Wars (which I completely missed because I haven’t listened to NPR in a while) aired this morning. She suggests that librarians can solve people’s problems with search engines: we can help people without forcing anyone to look at ads and we can interact with people in ways to figure out exactly what they’re looking for. (Some of us can even be accessed via the Internet, too.)
The letter is the last one, beginning at approximately 2 minutes and 26 seconds.
