It’s Difficult to Believe I’ve Been Blogging for a Year
I started this weblog on April 20, 2003, but didn’t post anything until April 21 ’cause I didn’t know what to say. It’s been downhill ever since and I still don’t know what to say.
Without the encouragement of such bloggers as Liz Donovan and Dave Winer, I wouldn’t have gotten started. Without continued encouragement from bloggers like Gary Price, my blog readers, and those many fab people I’ve met through the blog group, perhaps I would have found other ways to use 10-20 hours of free time a week instead of sitting at my computer typing away into thin air.
Today, I blog on four blogs and consult on a fifth. (I felt better about my hobby when a guy with eight blogs asked me why I wrote on so few this past weekend.)
I have introduced blogging and feeds to many people, including my coworkers, other information professionals, my parents (Hello!), and, well, my cats. (Don’t worry: neither of them blog.)
I have made numerous professional connections through blogging and perhaps developed a few friendships.
I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for a year in two senses: 1) a year has gone by already and 2) it’s a year later and I’m still blogging?!?
What will the next year bring?
