Webfeed: A Better Name for RSS?
Amy Gahran held a contest to pick a better name for RSS:
“The point of this contest was not about pleasing the technogeeks of the world, but rather about finding a term suitable for the majority of online users, who are fairly nontechnical.”
Her judges selected “webfeed.”
