Merriam-Webster Features Real Time Words

A little while ago, I wrote about an article about Merriam-Webster that mentioned a board in the company’s headquarters that flashed real time word lookups. Now it’s enabled on their Web site. Unfortunately, it doesn’t flash the words with live links so you can easily click on them to get a definition. Of course, with some misspellings and words that aren’t really words, that could get tricky.

I also noticed a link to subscribe to their “word of the day.” I followed it hoping to find something more useful than Dictionary.com’s Word of the Day, which only gives the word and not the definition. Merriam-Webster’s word is distributed via e-mail. I chose not to sign up for it.
