TecsChange: Technology for Social Change
I mentioned TecsChange to a friend of mine who’s trying to find a good home for some old computer equipment he has. He hadn’t heard of them before and I thought maybe some of you with old computer equipment might be interested in their work. They accept donations of computer equipment as part of their program to refurbish machines and provide machines to people with low incomes and nonprofit organizations around the world. They also have a program to train people, especially those with low incomes and disadvantaged youths, how to repair computers.
Unfortunately, they do not accept Macs, but they do have information about a program that does, as well as other organizations accepting computer equipment.
Many organizations like TecsChange exist throughout the world. Perhaps there’s one near you.
