Blogging in the Business World
I am talking to some business librarians on Friday about blogging, so I’m collecting resources and ideas of things to show them and talk about. I appreciate any suggestions anyone out there might have.
Here are some resources I might highlight:
- What a Blog Can Do For Your Small Business
- Blogging for Business
- Dan Bricklin on Small Business Blogging
- Several sources say Business Blog Consulting is a good place to find business blogs
- Blogwise’s list of keywords beginning with “B” lots of business-related blogs here, corporate-related blogs, business blogs
Library and information science blog stuff
- Why and How to Use Blogs to Promote Your Library’s Services
- LIS Feeds (feeds from sources about library and information science)
- Rich Site Services (list of library services delivered through a feed; includes some popular sites librarians find useful, too)
- Open Directory Project’s list of LIS weblogs
- Google Directory’s list of LIS blogs, which is based on the Open Directory Project’s content
- blogwithoutalibrary’s list of LIS blogs
- List of business blogs via Yahoo!’s directory
Business school libraries using blogs:
- Need2Know: Current information for staff of the Business Information Desk, RMIT University Library (links to databases and other information staff would find useful, blog posts are for staff communication, RMIT is the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia)
- ?
I would really like to show the audience some blogs of business school libraries, but I haven’t been able to find many, even though I’ve used some popular Internet and blog search engines and some sites listing LIS feeds. Does anyone know of one or a couple?
Harvard blog stuff:
- Weblogs at Harvard Law, the Harvard blog host
- Where to go to get your blog if you have an e-mail address ending with harvard.edu.
- Thursday Meetings at Berkman
- Directory of Harvard-hosted weblogs
- Rowland Institute at Harvard Library Blog
- World Events on Weekdays by Michael Watkins, who was a business school professor
- LLM Classes of 2003 and 2004 and admitted students
- Center for Design Informatics at the Graduate School of Design
- computer support people at Berkman
Addendum 6/22: As I work on this presentation, I imagine this list will grow and change. I’m not noting every addition because that’ll get ridiculous.
