Jay’s Considering a New Design for makeoutcity
Jay McCarthy of makeoutcity is considering a new design for his blog, including new categories and a new category structure. I’m curious to see what he does with the design. Five words caught my attention: "when the blog goes wiki." Blog goes wiki? Dude!
I also like the text in his navbar: "If you really like my work, you can buy me stuff from my Amazon Wish List or look at the Google Ads on some of the pages. But I would prefer that you start your own weblog, so I can read what you have to say." (emphasis mine) That’s Jay’s philosophy about blogging, which I think is really cool. Comment on your own blog and all that. (How does a wiki change the idea of commenting on your own blog?)
Jay, I think we need to get you another picture. And if you want any input on your categories, I know a librarian with some indexing skills you could consult.
Addendum 7/6: Rah rah new photo of Jay!
Instead of "I *heart* RSS" T-shirts, makeoutcity shirts could be the unofficial shirt of blog group.
And, uh, Jay’s site doesn’t show up red in my browser. The background shading is closer to a light pink and the colored text is dark brown, similar to the shade of linked text in Frassle. (For all I know, the Frassle text will show up red, too, but it’s dark brown on my screen.) Is it not a Web-safe color or do we just have different names for the same colors? Netscape 7 on a Mac with OSX. Blue could be much safer … but if you’re making out, red is closer to love and lips and all that goodness.
Addendum 7/12: Je’s shirts are available.
