Program Sends Materials to Asia
Today’s issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education covered the Bridge to Asia program, which sends academic books and journals to Asian universities. Often, librarians look for new homes for old material besides the recycle bin. Certainly there are other programs like this throughout the world. Perhaps this kind of program satisfies John Lenger’s idea of better exchanges between libraries discarding items and institutions needing those items.
