UC-Irvine Survey of Bloggers
Graduate students in computer science at the University of California-Irvine are administering this survey of bloggers. It has about fifty questions and takes approximately fifteen minutes to answer. They plan “to find out more about [the blogging] phenomenon and try to better understand how universal blogging is and the differences in blogging practice across cultures.” The survey is available in several Asian languages, as well as English.
The questions imply a focus on blogging as a social or personal activity, not blogging for other reasons, like professional development or as part of a job. Even though they talk about blogging on multiple blogs in their introductory material, they don’t ask about it in the survey. I’d be interested in knowing how many people blog on multiple blogs or blog for their jobs or other reasons besides social reasons.
