Weblogs for Nonprofits
Over the weekend, a woman who works with a nonprofit asked me whether and how a weblog could benefit her organization. After giving her a brief overview of blogging and how I thought she might be able to use it in her work, she asked me for examples of what nonprofits are doing with blogs. I’m gathering some resources for her and thought maybe some of you might know of some blogs for nonprofits or maybe a blog about blogging among nonprofits.
She’s also very interested in being able to share photos on the Internet, like having an online photo album. I only know a smidge about photo blogging or moblogging and know almost nothing about sharing photos on the Internet. If you know something and would like to share some tips or sites, she’d appreciate it and so would I.
Here are some things I’ve gathered for her already:
- Weblog strategies for nonprofits from Radio Free Blogistan
- Learning from Weblogs: Nonprofits Online
- What’s a Blog, and Why Should Nonprofits Care? from The Nonprofit Quarterly, which includes some links to blog providers
- Business Blog Consulting has a category for Nonprofits
