Harvard Blog Server’s Stats Page has been Disabled.
It seems like it’s been disabled because it isn’t working right. If someone can fix it, it might come back online. I wonder how it’s not working. How many fewer hits and spots in the rankings will this blog have once it’s fixed?
Now there’s no pressure to blog before midnight so I can check the rankings page before it rolls over. Nice!
I’m kinda joking around here. There’s at least one reader who thinks I’m totally obsessed with my rankings, but really I’m not. A few of us watch/watched the stats page, but mostly it was for fun and friendly competition. It’s a good way to get an idea of the number of blog visitors and a feel for the bigger picture of traffic on Harvard’s server.
It’s also amazing to me to think that about a year ago, I might have had about 30 visitors an hour in a surge of traffic. Recently, the rankings page was telling me I was getting 1,000 or more hits a day. That’s more visitors than I thought I would have had.
