Blogs about the Olympics

A few people are looking for blogs about the Olympics. Someone pointed me to Stuart Hughes of the BBC. Word is spreading about Indianapolis Star photographer Robert Scheer’s Summer Olympics blog.

A rumor guesses Olympians may not be allowed to blog because it violates certain press rules.

Scott Goldblatt, a United States swimmer, is keeping a journal.

The ResourceShelf has a fantastic list of Resources for the 2004 Olympic Games.

Many of us will be blogging from our living rooms, especially if there’s another gymnastics fiasco like what happened four years ago when the vaulting horse was too low and no one noticed until several of the gymnasts had already vaulted and made some mistakes as a result of the vault being at the wrong height. None of the women were allowed to vault again, which may have altered which teams earned medals. Imagine if those athletes could have blogged about that situation. But wait, this blog is about news librarianship and I am horribly digressing. If I post anything about the Olympics, it will probably not be in this space.

Know of any Olympic blogs? Share the URL(s) if you wish.

I would be interested in an Olympic athlete’s blog. It would give us another perspective into the fierce training they go through in order to achieve global superiority.

I might start my own mortgage rates blog.
