Summer Issue of News Library News Available

The summer News Library News, the newsletter of the Special Libraries Association News Division, is now available. Most of the issue focuses on the News Division activities of the Special Libraries Association 2004 Annual Conference. Blog reader and Vormelker-Thomas Student Award winner Amy Disch reports on her experience as a first-timer at the conference. I said more about the issue on NewsliBlog.

This is editor Ron Larson’s last issue. It’s been a real pleasure working with him these past two years as both the person who puts News Library News on the Web (it’s /much/ easier to do as a .pdf instead of hand-coding each page) and as someone who has been writing for the newsletter. Ron, a librarian for the Wisconsin State Journal and Capital Times, was my mentor my last year of graduate school. It’s been great to have the opportunity to work with him again.

Thanks for another mention Jessica. I’m probably a little biased, but Ron did a great job as newsletter editor. I was very lucky to have been hired by him and to have him as a role model.
