Incarcerated Moms Read Books to Their Kids

This Washington Post article focuses on the program “Read Me A Story,” sponsored by the Arlington (Virginia) library and the county sheriff’s office.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Library and Information Studies has a student group that runs the library at a jail. Their Kids’ Connection is a similar activity. In 1999, the group won the Presidental Points of Light Service Award for its efforts.
