Wisconsin Blog Talk

An outline of my talk to the Special Libraries Association Wisconsin Chapter and their guests will magically appear in the stories section later this evening. I’m going to try to create a blogroll for the group, too, but that depends on whether other bloggers are there and are willing to share their URLs, of course.

For those of you attending this talk and any of my future talks, your task is to think of things you want to ask, know, or add to the discussion. You should also let me know if I’m speaking too softly (with a potential audience of sixty people and no microphones …) or too fast or if I’m boring. If anyone comments below that I’m boring before I begin speaking, I’m going to get suspicious.

Social hour begins at 5 pm. Dinner (for paid registrants only, I think) is at 6 pm. I should begin speaking around 7:15 pm. There will be no Webcast. Since there’s no wireless and the lined network is closed, I’ll probably be the only one in the room capable of getting on IRC and I can’t really chat online and talk at the same time, so if there’s IRC, I won’t be on it.

Addendum: The blog talk was totally awesome. I forgot to mention the pile of coal I brought, thank people for supporting my political career instead of Ralph Nader’s, and apologize for blocking the view of the beautiful sunset. I saw quite a few familiar faces. The audience members had lots and lots of really excellent questions and at times, the presentation was more like a discussion than a lecture: fine with me. I plan to write much more later. A very kind student logged me onto the network so I can blog by the lake while I drink some moose drool. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Addendum 9/16: When my computer crashed during the presentation, it ate the blogroll. I integrated some of the blogs into the presentation outline, but I know a few on the list disappeared. If you don’t see yours on the outline, please give me the URL again by commenting below or contacting me through this other blog.
