At the talk on Saturday, someone asked about charts comparing blog software. Today, two women shared such links on the Berkman Thursdays Yahoo! Group.

Blog Software Breakdown examines about 15 platforms and more than fifty characteristics.

Vergleichliste: Blog-Software is a similar list in German. It includes twenty free blog platforms and information on thirty-five criteria. I translated the headings on the table:

Vergleich = Comparison (If you check several boxes,
then click the Vergleich button at the bottom, you see
only the rows you checked.)
Name = Name
Demo = Demo
Version = Version
Lizenz = License
Sprachen = Language
Voraussetzungen = System Requirements
Kommentar = Comments (I think this is as in comments
about the system itself, not whether the system
handles comments.)
Mehrere Weblogs = Several Weblogs (Does the
installation allow multiple weblogs?)
Archiv = Archive
Trackback = Trackback
Pingback = Pingback
Suche = Search
Name = Name (Name is repeated throughout the chart to
make scrolling to the right (it’s a huge table) and
reading the table data easier.)
