Onfolio
Onfolio’s software developers JJ Allaire and Sebastian Gard walked me through the new version (2.0), which could be released in a few months. The software plugs into a browser and makes capturing information and Web pages incredibly easy.
Some of the features I particularly like include the ability to save things to categories in a folder structure, integrate documents on a hard drive and in a variety of formats into the same collection as Web stuff, publish to a blog or a Web site, and provide a feed for the content. A built-in search function with advanced searching features provides additional access to materials. Onfolio also allows cross-grouping of items through other means using a saved search.
It also has a built-in aggregator, which allows for reading feeds in a variety of manners and meshing them with the collections.
Sharing collections and having multiple people contribute to a collection/collections are possible.
The product only works on PCs so far. The developers aren’t concretely planning a Mac version at this point in time, but demand might change that.
They are signing people up for a chance to try out Onfolio 2.0 beta.
