U.S. Newspaper Digitization Project
The ResourceShelf and a few other blogs point to the announcement of a major initiative to digitize United States newspapers. The National Digital Newspaper Program seeks to make 30 million pages of old newspapers available in 2006. National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman Bruce Cole announced the program in a speech at the National Press Club on Tuesday.
