“Your wiki is in my taxonomy!” “Your taxonomy is in my wiki!”

Okay, well, it ws funnier when Jenny said it first. How about this a la butter/Parkay: "Wiki" "Taxonomy" "Wiki" "Taxonomy" Yeah, that’s not funny either.

I wasn’t going to write about Wixonomy, another amazing tool Shimon Rura crafted, until he wrote about it first, but someone asked me about it Wednesday and I wanted to make sure I posted the link.

He built the technological structure for a taxonomy on a wiki. It’s open to anyone. Anyone can edit it.

Since this is one of Shimon’s Feedster Developers Contest entries, he programmed it to work with searches in Feedster. Any of the terms should search that database.

I’ve played with it for a while and I think it’s totally fab. It’s not very robust yet and there aren’t many terms. I want one for my taxonomy needs. I think it would be amazingly useful for so many things I do and many things you do, too. Just the idea of an easily editable taxonomy makes me want to drool.

And since it allows multiple contributors, it’d be ideal to use in a setting where many people–maybe even users–contribute to a taxonomy.

I told Shimon I want one of these to help me organize my desktop and to use on certain Web sites. Imagine being able to do something like this for a site index! Yea, Shimon!
