Season’s Greetings and all that jazz

A very kind e-mail from a reader wishing me happy holidays made me reflect on how many people I’ve met via this blog and the community that’s formed around it. I feel like I know more of you readers–virtually or otherwise–this year than I did last year, so wishing you happy holidays, season’s greetings, joyous so-to-be-deleted Christmahanukwanzaka, happy Hanukkah, sweet solstice, merry Christmas, bah! humbug!, amazing Boxing Day, wonderful Festivus, and best wishes in the new year, and so on and so forth, seem even more important this year than they did last year. I realize many of you probably feel like there’s no place in professional resources for these kinds of greetings and wishes, so just simply ignore this post.

jessica, happy holiday of choice! warmest wishes to you.

You have absolutely no reason to be defensive about sending good wishes to your readers and fans. You ought to delete the last sentence of this post, and we can all pity the poor fools who worry about the purity of their “professional” resources and status.

    Thanks, David!
