A Campaign for Friends for David Weinberger
I almost tempted to start a campaign to find Orkut friends for David Weinberger. Something tells me if I can’t give my Gmail invites away, finding people to link to him in Orkut for a fruitcake isn’t going to work.

You know, I haven’t used my Orkut account in forever. Mainly because I never bothered to actively seek out my other friends there beyond the one who initially invited me… partly hampered by the one who invited me not being linked very closely to many of my other friends. So, hey, I’ll be David’s friend (especially since I actually know him anyway). And have you got an Orkut too?

Yeah, I’m on Orkut somewhere. A bunch of us from the blog group are. You’ll find many of your Berkman colleagues, too. There’s even a Berkman Center community.
I also rarely do anything with Orkut. I find it incredibly clunky to use and most of the time, I just get error after error.
David has 133 friends. I wonder why only 8 of them get fruitcake. I had to pay dearly for my 22. I wonder how someone like him can afford that many friends.

Cool, re Orkut having my colleagues and fellow blog-groupers and all. If only I could remember my password to log in, and if only the “forgot your password” thing would work. Now I remember why I stopped using it so long ago…
You know, I hear fruitcake isn’t that hard to make. And I have a lot of rum hanging around. Perhaps I should bake some.
