Wireless Access at SLA 2005
Science Library Pad reports on a discussion with the Special Libraries Association about wireless access at the conference in June indicating wireless access will not be readily available and conference participants wishing to take advantage of it may have to pay an additional fee.
We are counting on wireless access for the blog course I’m helping to coordinate and will be presenting at. I’m investigating what’s going on with this and am prepared to protest, if necessary.
What is it with some of these conference organizers that they just don’t think it’s important to have wireless? Yeah, yeah, yeah~~money and all that. I’m hoping for better conditions than what we had at ASIST where I gave a presentation on blogging without Internet access. That’s not an experience I want to repeat. = )

Addendum 1/25: We are waiting for a response from some people at SLA headquarters who are at the conference in Tampa regarding wireless/wired connectivity in the blogging CE course. It might be a few days before we get a firm response on this issue.
