Two from Weekend America

I heard two snippets worth mentioning on this blog on today’s Weekend America radio show. Usually, I would point to each as a separate item, but it doesn’t look like I can point to the individual segments, so I’m putting them into one blog entry.

Chris Spurgeon says a few words about Slashdot, a Web site popular with many of my geek, blogging, and professional colleagues. I think last week was “Let’s harass j for not reading Slashdot” week. I still don’t subscribe to it–mainly because it would melt my aggregator because of the amount of stuff flowing through it. I might visit it a bit more regularly, though.

The other segment that caught my ear is the segment about the restaurant reviewer who doesn’t indentify herself as a reviewer when she goes out to eat. First of all, it made me think of Bill Ives and his interest in posting restaurant reviews. Second, some of the things John Moe says made me laugh when I thought about how I feel sometimes when I’m going to things as a blogger intending to write about them.
