Google Maps

Enough people have been mentioning Google Maps, I thought I’d take a look.

I chuckled when after looking at their interface and their list of services, I had to search in Google to find Google Maps.

I want a mapping service where I can type in major locations and get results. Especially in the Boston area, people often talk in squares or other similar landmarks. "When you get to Leverett Circle, turn right, then take another left and follow the signs to get to Kendall Square."

When I typed Harvard Square without quotes, it gave me two flags in Kansas. Cities named Harvard dot the United States. I expected a peg for Harvard, Massachusetts, at least. Harvard Square in quotes returned nothing. Oh, well. It was worth a shot.

The images are quite nice. I like the flags. The shadowing adds a nifty touch.

That’s as far as I’ve gotten.
