I also have found selling blogging to academics to be difficult. It’s an activity that can prove itself useful once someone gets into it, but for people who have lots to do and very little time, even the initial investment in starting a blog is a big hurdle. Since many academics are concerned about keeping their work private until it is published, why should they blog publicly? Convincing someone about the utility of the tool itself, even a private blog, can be tricky.
