Since wikis are romantic, come to the Wikipedia meeting on Sunday.

I just heard on the radio that in the early 1900s, it was considered romantic to have wikis growing on you. I have no idea what the announcer is talking about or even if wiki is spelled the same way, but since it’s supposed to be romantic and Valentine’s Day is Monday, perhaps attending the Wikipedia meeting Sunday (2/13) sj mentions is one way to celebrate the holiday. The last I heard, it’s going to be at 6 pm at Smile Thai in Harvard Square. Too bad it’s not in a wikiup. I’ve heard those can be romantic, too, no matter how you spell them.

Addenda 2/13: sj confirms the location as Smile Thai.

I met an amazing man on an amazing quest at the Wikipedia meetup, where I actually spent more time talking about Wikinews than Wikipedia. I mentioned to the Wikinewsie how some people who might want to contribute to Wikinews might be limited because of various agreements and conflicts of interest with their employers. Anonymity is a good thing sometimes.

I won’t say much about the man because I’m hoping Wikinews will cover his story and I don’t want to scoop them, but I wish him all the luck. I’m sure you’ll be hearing about him and his quest in a few years.

I feel the need to make a Wikis Are For Lovers t-shirt :)

I just need to get a makeoutcity.com t-shirt. It would have been all too appropriate for a party I was at the other night not to mention great for Valentine’s Day.
