Minuteman Libraries Offer Reading History Option

Some libraries in Massachusetts offer an opt-in feature in their catalog to log what items people borrow. The page has a brief disclaimer explaining the service and the legal implications of keeping a record of what customers borrow on their system. It seems that clients who opt-in can delete things on the list and stop the logging at any time. The disclaimer suggests those people with legal concerns not opt-in.

It sounds like a great feature. I’m really glad the librarians added the legal information.
