Use of iPods at Universities
Although some people believe universities giving iPods to students is nothing more than a marketing ploy, The Chronicle of Higher Education explains how several college campuses, students, and professors use them for academic purposes.
"A journalism professor encourages students to use them to record interviews instead of simply taking notes. An economics professor records lectures for her 300-person survey course on her iPod and posts them online as a pre-exam study aid. An engineering professor has students use their iPods to transfer research data from dormitory computers to laboratory machines."
I’m sure they’re incredibly useful for students who might need extra help taking notes. Being able to easily make a digital recording of a lecture a student can put on his/her computer could really improve study methods.
