LoC, NEH Announce National Digital Newspaper Program Grants
As part of an effort to build a database of newspapers in the public domain, the National Endowment for the Humanities and Library of Congress announce grants to four universities and two libraries for work on digitizing selected American newspapers published between 1900 and 1910.
"’Newspapers are among the most important historical documents we have as Americans. They tell us who we were, who we are, and where we’re going,’ said NEH Chairman Bruce Cole."
The Chronicle of Higher Education also reports on the grants: link for subscribers or temporary link for nonsubscribers.
