News Flash: Teamwork is not Always Great
Many of us spend a great deal of our lives doing groupwork. The Financial Times suggests teamwork can stifle some employees; teams are best when they’re kept small; and groups aren’t always great for every project.
Some of us learned these lessons in library school when we were subjected to way too much groupwork. One of the problems with doing things by team is that people often don’t really know how to work in a group. I kept hoping since the curriculum emphasized group projects, it would also offer some pointers about how to work as a team. Instead, we muddled through as best we could.
