I am now a member of the SLA President’s Club
*j puffs out chest
I received a nice letter from Special Libraries Assocication President Ethel Salonen, a pen, and an enamel pin as thanks for helping SLA with its recent membership drive. My efforts earned me a spot in the elite SLA President’s Club. But I really need to thank whomever put my name down on their SLA membership form. I thought it was my penpal, but he used someone else’s name. It seems like I pressured encouraged someone else to join, but I can’t remember who that was. For all I know, one of you read my note about the membership drive and put my name down on your form. So, thanks! I hope you find your membership as valuable and rewarding as I find mine.
I was all excited about my new pin (*j points to it on chest) until my penpal reminded me it’s not the secret decoder ring. I wonder what I have to do to get one of those …

Hello. Just wanted to let you know that I joined SLA recently, and out your name down as the referer, or referee, or referererer. Your weblog and posts helped me decide to join SLA.
Thanks much!

Knowing this is so awesome, Carrie!
I hope you get as much out of your SLA membership as I’ve gotten out of mine. I’ve found that the knowledge I’ve gained and the people I’ve met through the association are invaluable to my career and professional development.
Welcome to the association!
