Blogging as a Job

The Wall Street Journal’s Career Journal highlights some companies who are hiring people to maintain blogs that connect the companies to the public.

The trend doesn’t surprise me because blogs are such useful tools. Why shouldn’t companies hire people to maintain them? It almost mirrors the adoption of Web sites several years ago. Does a company want to have a Web site and hire people to be responsible for it?

I’ll bet I could totally get into blogging about popcorn, but I hate getting popcorn toppings on my computer’s keys.
