Blogger Survey

Cameron Marlow, who’s working on a dissertation at MIT, is gathering data about bloggers. His survey is online. Unless you’re one of his 5,000 A-list bloggers, you have to request a key in order to take the survey.

I finished in fourteen minutes after waiting less than a minute to get a key. It’s a quick and easy survey. Please complete it, if you blog.

I wish it handled contributors to multiple weblogs better. I know of quite a few people who are interested in learning more about people who contribute to multiple blogs. A question asks if I write for multiple blogs and has choices that go up to 5 or more. Can people work with so few blogs?

In one section, it pulls random links off a weblog. I used the scratchpad for that, since I consider this to be my main weblog. Two of the links it pulled were from the navbar where I link to some of my other blogs. It asked questions like how well I know the author and when did I last speak to her. There wasn’t a way to say, “These are my weblogs. I am the author.” Instead, I said we’re friends and I last talked to her today. What hurt my ego was acknowledging that not even I read my own weblogs. ha ha ha
