My Palm IIIXE Won’t Boot
so I’m trying to figure out whether I should get a new personal data assistant or whether I really need one at all.
The most I really used it is for ordering for large groups in restaurants.
I’ve seen so many nifty new gadgets, it just seems a shame not to have something flashy.
Since I still can’t really write with my right hand, though, I think I’m going to procrastinate the purchase for a while.
Aggregator first, then handheld.
I was quite bummed until I realized I could use the rechargeable batteries into my model train engine.
(Yes, I replaced and recharged and replaced the batteries. I tried resetting it, too. It’s been fading for a while, so I’m not surprised.)
Addendum: Jenny asks about using wireless PDAs in libraries.

Maybe you should try the Hipster PDA:

Thanks! What a great gadget!
A few of my geeky friends use similar technology. One prints his schedule and list of contacts onto high tech 8 1/2 X 11 paper, folds it into a square, and uses his back pocket as a carrying case. Another stores his schedule on a totally retro calendar grid. I’ve been considering similar models, but so far, remembering the days I don’t have anything going on is so easy, I’m just doing what I usually do: keeping track of things in my head.

This is long past the post date, so I suspect you’ve already come up with a new solution, but I thought I’d add my vote for the Hipster PDA mentioned in the earlier post.
PDA’s like the Palm are great, but a paper-based organizer can never crash or run out of juice
The link has changed to the Hipster PDA info as well:
