After spending about three months in jail to protect a confidential source, New York Times reporter Judith Miller accepted the source’s decision to release her from the confidentiality agreement and revealed his identity.

No, really, he did. As preparation for his Esquire article about Wikipedia, A.J. Jacobs secured Jimmy Wales’ consent, then wrote the article on, er, in the encyclopedia and stepped back to watch what would happen to it.
