The 4,000th Item
I did the thing with my weblog that I usually do with my car’s odometer: “Oooh, I’m approaching the 4,000th post! I should post something when it flips or to honor the occasion.” Just the other night, I realized the odometer was going to flip to 277,000. Then, I forgot about it. Post 4,000 is a place holder reminding me to write about a Web site. Post 4,001 happened on Thursday. 277,000.2 is what my odometer read when I got home.
Addendum: Obviously, I shouldn’t blog when I’m sick and tired. It’s the 4000th item on this blog, not my 4000th post. I kinda said that in the title, but not in my quote. That number includes comments and comment spam, which is why it isn’t my 4000th post. I’ve received way more than 500 comment spams on this blog and who knows how many comments. I think I’ll be hitting my 4000th post when items on this blog number around 5500. It’s just difficult for me to believe that in just less than 2 1/2 years, this blog has 4,000 things on it.
