What happens when Internet service providers don’t get along?
Because of a pricing dispute, Cogent Communications Group and Level 3 Communications, major Internet service providers, are at odds with each other. Level 3 stopped allowing some customers to access Web sites or send e-mail to customers on Cogent. The government currently does not regulate Internet activities of this kind, so there is no guarantee that ISP customers can get to information on rival networks.
