Visually Representing the Popularity of News

One of my fabulous news librarian colleagues posted this resource to Newslib. Newsmap shows the popularity of news items through tree maps. The site includes news for a few countries besides America, common news categories, and different days and times.

From their about page:

"Newsmap is an application that visually reflects the constantly changing landscape of the Google News news aggregator. … Newsmap’s objective takes that goal a step further and provides a tool to divide information into quickly recognizable bands which, when presented together, reveal underlying patterns in news reporting across cultures and within news segments in constant change around the globe."

(OK, it’s here now, so maybe you can find it again or when you call me, I’ll remember posting about it. hee hee hee)

    Good morning, JB!

Other than the title of the post, no.

Wait–you’re going to tell me the link isn’t showing up in my feed in LJ, aren’t you …
