Changes to Manila
It looks like the server gods changed some things yesterday.
I was so happy to go to the stories page and see the Create a New Story link at the top of the page. That’s a tweak I’ve been dreaming of for two and a half years. The other exciting changes to the Stories section include a statement explaining what the page is, some notes on how to use the stories page, and an option to move stuff into the stories section from other places on the blog.
On the editor’s menu, Gems is now called Files. That makes much more intuitive sense. The Pictures page also has more explanatory text now.
Unfortunately, it appears that the list on the sidebar of recent posts isn’t working anymore.
There’s now a search function, but I haven’t been able to successfully change the permissions of that section of the site to open it up to everyone because of another Manila bug. It returns an error messsage instead of actually working, anyway, so if you can’t get to it, you aren’t missing much.
More preferences are in the preference menu, too, and the previous options are now in a different order.
I wonder what else changed. I’m hopeful some of the bugs might be fixed … Unfortunately, the membership bug is still here, which means I still can’t fix my byline so e-mails go where I’d like them to.
I’m going to contact the weblogmaster about some of the new bugs.
