Wales Discusses Plans to Distribute Offline Copies of Wikipedia

I saw pointers to this bit of news about plans to distribute print and/or CD or DVD versions of Wikipedia in several places, including future of the book and a discussion list for solo librarians.

Wales also discusses the incorrect reports last summer about potential controls or freezes to content in the online encyclopedia.

Yet another reminder that I need to stick something in my feeds presentation about wikis–something I’ve set out to do several times this evening without success.

(Ooooh. I did it while the server was chomping on the other blog post–before I even knocked this one live.)

Addendum: Berkman has this, too, since Wikimedia founder Jimmy Wales is a fellow.
