Cool Sites: Image Searching, Social Networking, Boston Events
During Thursday’s blog meeting, one of our members gave us a tour of some cool Internet sites he’s found. Instead of rehashing them here, I’m just going to be lazy and tell you to follow the links from the Thursday Meetings at Berkman Blog.
The one particularly worth noting is Retrievr because its a(n) unique image search tool. The search engine somehow coordinates lines drawn in a box with images in its database (Flickr images). It looks pretty sophisticated. I don’t know of any other search tools like it. Do you? The thought of having a search mechanism like this built into photo archives, like those used in news organizations, makes my mouth water.
