Deadlines, Deadlines. Everywhere a deadline …
It’s a beautiful day here, so I’m gonna be brief so I can get away from the computer sooner and so can you.
Today marks two important deadlines in my world.
I’ve harped on you before about today being the deadline for Wikimania’s Call for Proposals. There are still holes in the program the planners would like filled, like having people from each project speak about the project and having a Wikipedia/Wikimedia critics panel. Don’t have a complete session? Propose something anyway and fill in the gaps later or see if the program planners can help you.
Today is also the deadline for Early Bird registration for the Special Libraries Association 2006 Annual Conference. Registration for the entire conference for SLA members increases $50 after today. Not sure you want to go? Check out the SLA News Division’s fabulous schedule. I registered Friday.
PS–I did submit a proposal for a Birds of a Feather session for librarians/archivists/information professionals/interested parties.
PPS 5/1–Don’t forget that the deadline for the Hayden Fellowship, which provides professional development funds for news librarians, is at the end of this week.
