Stipend for Female Students to Hack on GNOME
One of the scratchpad’s readers told me as a way to reach out to and encourage female programmers, GNOME is offering some money for a student to work on a project this summer.
"Each project will last two months, and each participant will each receive a stipend of 3,000 US$. You can submit your own proposal for how to improve GNOME, or choose from our list of potential projects."
While several organizations offer funding to encourage racial and ethnic minorities in library and information science, do any offer funds to bridge the gender barrier?
