The New Yorker on Wikipedia

Rich, who is absolutely no cakesniffer, nudged me about the current edition of The New Yorker’s article about Wikipedia, which begins by comparing it to the Encyclopedia Britannica. Wikipedia is larger and includes lots of content Britannica does not. Does that make it better? Or just different?

Stacy Schiff also takes a historical look at Wikipedia’s roots and mentions Wikimania.

Don’t confuse the Essjay in the article with our sj here. They might sound the same, but like me and Jay, they’re two different people.

Thanks for the link, Rich! (Maybe after Wikimania, I can get to those e-mails I owe you …)
