Backing Up Hard Drives

While I was looking for information about computer power bricks this morning, since mine decided to catch fire, I stumbled across this Wall Street Journal Loose Wire column giving advice about making images of hard drives as a way to back up data. Small world: Berkman Fellow David Weinberger mentions at the end that disk images don’t always work–a good word of caution to back up your backups or to make multiple backups and keep at least some of them.

I could continue the trend of pointing out how things are connected to Wikimania by mentioning that David, whom I know from various Berkman activities, will be speaking at the conference, but I know some of you roll your eyes every time I mention Wikimania, so I won’t.
