Malik on News Researchers
The American Journalism Review has a bit on news researchers. John Maines, whom I talked to in the News Division suite of the Special Libraries Association Annual Conference, describes being a news researcher like being a bombardier or navigator because we’re in the background, directing people, and contributing in our own specialized way to make the mission successful.
