Ask.com to Allow Non-Alphanumeric Characters

Gary wrote to me to say the search engine Ask.com now allows some non-alphanumeric characters in their searches. Especially of note is that they’re providing definitions of some smiley faces. I like Ask’s instant definitions, particularly those related to chat abbreviations. I often start those searches in Ask and move elsewhere if I can’t find a suitable answer there.
